Job Description / Responsibility
  • We are looking for Welfare Officer/Case Manager committed to enhancing the overall social and emotional well-being of residents at one of our accommodation sites.
  • The role of the Welfare Office/Case Manager is two-pronged: (i) Provide first-level counseling and emotional support to residents; and (ii) Plan and execute social welfare programs aimed at enhancing management-resident & resident-resident integration and communication.
  • Job Description:
  • (A) Counselling:
  • Plan and implement dormitory-wide counselling programs.
  • Provide first-level emotional support to residents.
  • Refer case consultations to external help agencies for second level follow-up.
  • Plan and conduct training to Unit Leaders in the areas of social and emotional development and in helping to identify potentially distressed residents.
  • Liaise and coordinate with voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs) and external organisations (e.g. hospitals, private counselling training centres etc) to enhance quality of counselling programs for our residents.
  • Build resilience among staff and residents at the individual, organisational and community levels.
  • (B) Integration:
  • Plan and execute cultural, social and sporting programs to promote management-resident and resident-resident integration.
  • Conceptualize social activities and promote them effectively to residents.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external agencies (MOM, NEA, SPF, ICA etc) to enhance quality of social activities for residents.
  • Coordinate/Conduct talks and workshops on resident welfare.

Educational Requirements
    Have a recognised Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Psychology or Graduate Diploma in Social Work or Counselling
Experience Requirements
  • 1 to 3 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of full-time working experience in social work, or counselling in Singapore
  • Be a Registered Social Worker / Registered Counsellor preferably
  • Compassionate individual possessing an energetic drive to plan and execute social integration programs
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • Have strong analytical, IT, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to man 24/7 emergency distress helpline for residents and work after office hours, weekends and public holiday if required
  • Must possess proficiency in English and (at least any one of the following language) Tamil/Bengali/Burmese
